Portugal Compensation & Benefits
Compensation and benefits are two of the most important aspects of most workers' employment. Employers recruiting in a foreign country, on the other hand, often struggle to determine the appropriate benefit management package and pay workers the correct amount at the right time.
With our Portugal reimbursement and profit outsourcing, AtoZ Serwis Plus will help. We'll recruit workers on your behalf, pay them according to Portugal compensation rules, and use our competitive benefits package to keep your company ahead of the market as a global GEO.
Portugal Compensation Laws
Portugal's minimum wage is currently 700 EUR a month as of 2019. If an employee is covered by a CBA, however, their mandatory minimum salary will change.
Employers must pay hourly overtime to workers who work more than 40 hours a week. In a normal working day, employees are paid 25% more than their base salary for the first hour and 37.5 percent more for all hours after that. Employees should be paid 50% for each hour spent on a normal day off or a public holiday. Depending on the industry, a CBA may adjust the overtime amount.
Bonuses for the 13th and 14th months are included in Portugal's reimbursement rules. Employees are usually eligible for these incentives, which are worth one month's pay, in June and December.
Guaranteed Benefits
The mandatory minimum of the country's guaranteed benefits must be included in your Portugal benefit management package.
Employees should be given 20 paid vacation days in their first year with the organisation, followed by 22 days each year after that. However, the country's laws prohibit employers from receiving extra compensation in exchange for the loss of any paid vacation days.
Portugal Benefit Management
Any supplemental benefits that are not needed but anticipated from workers are also included in Portugal benefit management. A competitive benefits package will help you draw top talent and set you apart from the competition.
Many senior executives in Portugal request additional health and life insurance. Larger firms may offer extra health benefits, while smaller businesses can choose to provide workers with a health insurance allowance. Employers also have meal and transportation allowances.
Restrictions for Benefits and Compensation
The most important benefits and compensation restrictions would be outlined in any collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) that relate to your sector. Before you draught an employment contract, double-check that you meet the CBA's minimum requirements, since these may vary from the statutory minimums.
