The northern region is also anticipated to experience wet weather, although temperatures are expected to reach a high of 25 degrees. On Monday, there might be heavy rain, and sunny weather will return only by Wednesday.
Furthermore, the central region is expected to have heavy rain on Friday, but weekends will be cleared out. On Monday, there might be rain showers again while temperatures will be on the rise once more – reaching 27 degrees.
Rain showers are expected to be light in the South region, too, with some showers falling on Friday, while the weekend will be characterized by nice weather. On Monday, there will be rain, but by Tuesday, holidaymakers will be able to enjoy the warm weather again.
The storms in Madeira are expected to pass by Friday, paving the way for a pleasant and predominantly dry weekend. During this period, temperatures are anticipated to reach a maximum of 26 degrees, while, starting from Monday, the weather will mainly be sunny, with average daily highs of around 25 degrees.
Following the not-so-pleasant weather last week, it is anticipated that the conditions will improve in the Azores by Friday, transitioning to a cloudy sky with intermittent sunny spells. Similar weather is expected to persist throughout the weekend, accompanied by temperatures reaching 21 degrees. However, starting from Monday, rain is expected to cover the region.
These changes in weather have led to many flights being cancelled or delayed, and as ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal stated on Monday, 28 flights had been cancelled, affecting thousands of travellers.
In addition, 12 flights were postponed due to particularly heavy rain, and similar cancellations are expected to occur on some of the upcoming days.
“Due to this situation, we appealed to passengers to try to confirm their trips before going to the airport to avoid unnecessary crowds,” ANA warned.
